2025 Conference Volunteer Application Form

  • Fill out this application to be considered as a volunteer at the 2025 Folk Alliance International Conference, Feb 19 - 23, 2025, in Montréal, Quebec, CA.
  • In order to receive a complimentary full conference registration, you must volunteer 16 hours during the conference.
  • The volunteer approval process starts in October. Applications are reviewed weekly thereafter.
  • If you are accepted as a volunteer, you will receive an email with instructions on how to register for the conference at no charge.
  • If for some reason FAI is unable to use you as a volunteer, you will receive a discounted registration to the conference (discount amount is based on how early you applied).

Are you interested in being a Crew Leader or Assistant Crew Leader? *

A Crew Leader will volunteer more than the required 16 hours but have some flexibility in the time they volunteer. As a Crew Leader you will schedule the volunteers in your area and train them in their roles. Some pre-conference volunteer hours required (can be from afar). You must have volunteered at the conference in the past to be a Crew Leader.

The Assistant Crew Leader helps the Crew Leader in their role with shift changeovers but does not schedule volunteers. This is an on-site role only.

Availability

  • You will be able to update this later, but please fill it out as accurately as possible to help us match you with open positions.
  • There are only a few shifts on Monday and Tuesday, most of our needs occur Wednesday through Saturday.
  • Most shifts are 3-5 hours in length & will be scheduled within time frames where you indicate availability.
  • All volunteer shifts are subject to time availability and conference volunteer needs.
  • We break up availability into 4 time frames. 

Time Frame Definitions:
1. Morning: 7:30 am to 12:30 pm
2. Daytime: 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm
3. Evening: 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm
4. Late Night: 10:30 pm to 3:30 am
